Education: Minimum BA degree/University degree, preferably in Psychology, Social Sciences or Social Work, or competencies equivalent to a combination of training and experience.

Additional Requirements:

Previous experience (min. 2 years) in child protection

Have strong desire to work in child protection and in conducting activities

Willingness to move around in different areas, door to door

Have leadership quality

Required- Local language, Desirable - English.


Responsibilities & Context:

Job Responsibility:

  • Review and develop gender and age sensitive materials and session plans for structured PSS.
  • Plan and implement PSS activities for children and adolescents.
  • Plan and implement positive parenting sessions for parents and caregivers.
  • Organize and support community based groups through participative approach to promote community based protection, building their capacity and supporting them to develop community-led initiatives.
  • Conduct awareness session activities of children, adolescents and caregivers.
  • Maintain and strengthen the relations with community groups, government  services related to child protection.
  • Provide training and capacity building to Rohingya volunteers on child protection, child development, PSS, PFA, communication with children, dealing with caregivers, child safeguarding and provide guidance in conducting children’s activities.
  • Supervise Rohingya volunteers daily activities.
  • Report any violation of the child safe guarding policy and PSEA of IOM.
  • Identify children with protection needs and refer them to services accordingly.
  • Promote Child Rights and child protection at host community.
  • Develop good relationship with community key people- school teacher, counsellor.
  • Work in emergency basis when necessary.
  • Any other task relevant to the position.

Compensation & Other Benefits: Monthly gross salary for this position is BDT 69,443.50.
